We believe that the best possible start in life for a child begins at home with their family. A nurturing, loving, stable family and home environment strongly determines a child’s future life chances. Children whose parents are struggling to cope can miss out on vital support for their future.
Home-Start depends heavily on donations to support the work we do with parents and children.
Do you have a keen interest in raising awareness and crucial funding to support local families?
Becoming a fundraising volunteer for Home-Start would help us to make a difference for more families. A few hours each month can support our fundraising committee to develop new ideas to ensure that no child’s future is limited.

The team at Home-Start NEA have been busy running weekly outings for all of our families over the school summer holidays.
The trips have taken us to all corners of the North East and enjoyed lots of local activities.
A special thank you goes to all our families for attending, our volunteers who came along, to the venues who hosted us and to Arnold Clark Community Fund for supporting us with transport costs.
Roll on Summer 2023!
Home-Start UK recently published a new report looking into the concerns parents had in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Over 1,200 families, who are supported by various Home-Start schemes across the UK, took part in the survey. It highlighted parents main concerns for their families and calls for further investment into addressing disparities with a focus on building on the strength and resilience of communities navigating unprecedented challenges.
